David & Staci Downtown Annapolis Engagement Session

What started as a blind date attending a Naval Academy Ring Figure turned into a special romantic bond years later..... I met up with these two downtown while they were in town for a wedding. They traveled all the way from California where David is currently stationed and serving the Marine Corps. I was honored to capture photos for them while they were in town for 48 hours. We unfortunately couldn't get on the yard due to Graduation Weekend festivities but we made all the use outside the gate. What a fun morning capturing these two. Loved getting to know them and hearing all about how they met and how much they are enjoying west coast living. Give me all the Annapolis Engagement Sessions please. David & Staci's Downtown Annapolis Engagement Portraits

When Staci contacted me a week before their session about squeezing them in for a early morning engagement session I was so excited! Ive been living in Annapolis for over 6 months and I've been itching to shoot a couples session downtown and at the United States Naval Academy. You see, Staci and David don't live in Maryland, they actually don't even live on the East Coast. Right now David is stationed in San Diego, Ca and they were only in town for the weekend to attend a wedding.

David was a champ when it came to engagement photos. He was ready and he really helped his fiancé Staci get comfortable. I was happy that they were dressed really casual because we walked everywhere and the weather was enjoyable. The weather that week was all over the place. Especially for these two California residents who experience perfect weather year round I didn't want them to melt.

One thing Staci really wanted to do was get photos on the yard. The yard is known as the United States Naval Academy. If you didn't know this my husband Russell actually graduated from the USNA. So living in Annapolis really was a dream come true. Unfortunately the week we did photos was in between the seniors commissioning week and graduation week so the yard was closed for visitors. Its a shame because David is actually alumni as well. The special meaning behind doing photos on the yard is because Staci & David met on the yard Davids junior year of college at his Ring Figure. It was a blind date Staci said and it was love at first sight apparently because 5 years later these two are still together, engaged, new home owners, new California residents & planning a wedding. So even though we couldn't get on the yard we made do with what we had and took photos in all the public access areas and I think it turned out really cute. I told them the next time they were in town we would have to get some on the yard next time.
